CrimeEye Terms of Service

Last updated: August 11, 2026

By creating an account or using CrimeEye, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What CrimeEye is

CrimeEye is a community platform for discussing public crime cases and sharing local, real-time reports. Content submitted by the community — comments, tips, incident reports — is user-generated and is not independently verified or corroborated the way official case records are, unless explicitly labeled otherwise. Treat unverified content accordingly.

Criminal Policy (User Policy)

We are the internet. CrimeEye is an application of freedom of speech — you can say, display, or portray what you want, when you want. Any criminal activity conducted through the app will be handled as such: no crimes will be committed here, and what you post can be used in a criminal investigation, especially given CrimeEye is a crime-focused application. We operate accordingly. Be careful what you post or say — it can be reported to police. Inciting or expressing a desire for violence can result in a serious criminal investigation. Provoking content — including things like using racial slurs in a provoking tone — is treated as prohibited, not protected speech.

Specifically prohibited on CrimeEye:

False information and fact-checking. We fact-check and flag content we determine to be false information. AI-generated media, and any media that has been manipulated, must be labeled as such.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, a permanent ban, and — where the content itself may be criminal — a report to law enforcement, at our discretion.

Reporting and blocking

Any comment can be reported for moderator review directly from the app. You can also block another user at any time, which hides their comments from your view and prevents messaging between you. Reports are reviewed by moderators, who can remove content or take action against accounts that violate these terms.

Your content

You're responsible for what you post. By submitting content, you confirm you have the right to share it and grant CrimeEye the right to display it within the app. You may post anonymously; if you do, we don't tie that content to your account identity.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You can delete your account at any time from Edit Profile → Delete Account — this permanently removes your personal information; see the Privacy Policy for details.

Paid plans

Premium and Professional plans are optional paid subscriptions purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase (StoreKit) on iOS. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed entirely by your Apple ID — you can cancel anytime from iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Canceling stops future billing but doesn't retroactively refund the current period unless required by law or Apple's own refund policy.

No warranty

CrimeEye is provided "as is." Public crime-case information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate — always verify anything important against official sources before relying on it. We're not liable for decisions made based on content in the app.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
